FERRERE advised Nutrex, a company in the agro-industrial sector with operations in different markets throughout the region, on the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Corporación de Alimentos e Higiene del Paraguay S.A. (CAHPSA, formerly ContiParaguay S.A.), which had been owned by Continental Grain Company and Continental Capital Limited.

This transaction is set in the framework of a Nutrex investment plan in Paraguay, which seeks to strengthen its regional operations, as well as to expand it export capacity to the more than 65 markets it trades with, for which FERRERE has been advising it on an ongoing basis.

FERRERE’s advice covered the full CAHPSA due diligence process and implementation of the deal, including structuring and negotiating the share purchase and trust agreements, trademark licensing and assignments.

The FERRERE team advising Nutrex was led by partner Carlos Vasconsellos, working with attorneys Luis Marcio Torales, Carlos Bataglia and Josefina Sosa.

Founded in 1951, CAHPSA is one of the leaders in its field in the Paraguayan market, where it has various flagship brands in diverse food and hygiene product categories.
