FERRERE is pleased to announce that Diego Bohrt has joined the firm as Senior Counsel at its office in La Paz, Bolivia, as of February 1, 2016. With the incorporation of this practitioner with vast experience in infrastructure, telecommunications, energy, natural resources and public utility regulation, FERRERE has strengthened its presence in those key areas of its practice in Bolivia.
Before joining FERRERE, Bohrt was a partner in the successful Regulatory Law boutique specializing in comprehensive advice to regulated companies. Prior to that he had a lengthy career in public service, where over the course of eight years he was Legal Advisor to the Telecommunications Superintendency (2000-2005), to the Electricity Superintendency (2006-2007), and to the Hydrocarbons Superintendency (2007-2008).
FERRERE thus adds an outstanding player to its corporate advisory team with broad knowledge of government functioning and regulatory agencies in different areas. Bohrt’s appointment is part of the accelerated strengthening of the FERRERE office in La Paz, led by its partner Alejandro Pemintel since he joined the firm in 2014. In a few weeks the firm will be moving to new offices with four times the space of its current site.
This news is another step in FERRERE’s process of regional growth, whose most recent milestones were the opening of its office in Quito, Ecuador, in April 2015, followed by the opening of a second office in Ecuador, in the city of Manta. In total FERRERE has ten offices in the four jurisdictions in which it operates, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Andrés Cerisola, FERRERE directing partner, assured: “We warmly welcome Diego, whose public service career along with his private practice have garnered him the confidence of a number of Bolivia´s top companies. Diego brings his practice and his experience to our extremely dynamic Bolivia office, which is in a stage of extraordinary growth, but also to FERRERE’s regional Administrative and Regulatory Law group, which is one of the pillars of the firm. We trust that Diego will be part of the leadership team at our Bolivia office and that he will contribute his prestige, experience and talent on behalf of our local and regional clients.”
Bohrt, in turn, noted: “For me it is an honor to join what is today one of the largest and most dynamic firms in Latin America. In recent years I have had the privilege of gaining the confidence of several of the top companies operating in Bolivia, and now, from such a powerful platform as FERRERE, I hope to be able to support them in a much more diverse and effective way. I also hope to be able to add value to FERRERE’s regional practice, especially considering that regulatory theory has a central core, with a similar structure in the bulk of countries, so that comparative experience greatly enhances service quality and results.”
