FERRERE announces Maurizio De Oliveira Lagoa’s promotion to firm counsel effective July 1, 2026.
In addition to strengthening strategic areas for the firm, including Banking & Finance and Administrative Law, the promotion recognizes of one of the most outstanding lawyers in Paraguay’s banking and finance ecosystem, who has participated in numerous high-impact deals.

Before joining FERRERE, Maurizio served as law clerk at the Supreme Court of Justice and as member of the Central Bank of Paraguay’s Legal Unit, where he gained deep insight into the functioning of the public sector and the country’s financial regulatory framework.
In academia, he has authored numerous legal publications, including the book “Fideicomiso de Titulización: Desafíos del empleo de flujos de caja de créditos futuros en el Paraguay,” published by La Ley Paraguaya S.A. His articles have also appeared in major specialized journals in Paraguay, and he serves on the Civil Law editorial board of La Revista Jurídica Paraguaya, a publication of La Ley, Paraguay’s most prestigious legal publisher.
He teaches at Universidad Católica de Asunción and is on the faculty of the Master’s Program in Civil and Commercial Law at the Law School of Universidad Nacional de Asunción (Graduate Programs Division), where he lectures on Property Law.
His experience has led The Legal 500 to include him as outstanding professional in Administrative Law and Banking & Finance in Paraguay.
He graduated with honors from Universidad Nacional de Asunción and pursued postgraduate studies in Roman Law at Università di Roma “La Sapienza.” He also earned two master's degrees from Universidad de Salamanca—one in Public Administration Law and another in Financial Markets Law.
