Ferrere (Bolivia) has helped South Korea's Hyundai Development Company (HDC) win a bid to build Bolivia’s longest bridge in the central Santa Cruz region.
HDC began construction on the bridge on 23 September. The Korean company won the US$50 million design and construction concession through an international public bidding process launched by the Bolivian Highway Authority (ABC). The other competitors were fellow Korean companies Halla Engineering and Sambu Construction.
The 1,440-metre long bridge will be a central part of the interoceanic corridor that is being built to connect the Atlantic Ocean on Brazil’s coast with Chile’s Pacific coast. The project is being done on a turnkey basis and is set to be concluded in three years.
