FERRERE partner and leader of the firm’s regional Litigation and Arbitration team, Sandra González, was elected as Vice President of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce.
The new members of the Court, which includes 195 practitioners and 17 vice presidents from 121 countries, were elected by the World Council of the International Chamber of Commerce. For the first time a woman, Claudia Salomon, will hold the office of President.
“This is one of the great honors of my professional career. I am proud to be part of an institution that has been in the vanguard, with leadership and responsibility, in addressing the global challenges of trade and investment. The ICC, and the Court, have played a key role in the development of business and of arbitration worldwide for 100 years. International arbitration is, in turn, one of the most vigorous phenomena of the law,” affirmed González.
Before her appointment as Vice President, Sandra González was an alternate member of the Court representing Uruguay, from 2018 to 2021.
