Baroffio specializes in labor law, labor relations and social security, and he is a member of the firm’s Labor and Social Security department. Since he joined Ferrere in 2007, Alberto Baroffio has developed an active legal practice in advice to companies on labor and social security disputes, as well as on individual and collective bargaining processes.
His work currently focuses on the construction industry, financial entities and the port and gas sectors.
He has an intensive practice in litigation and highly complex collective negotiations, including as representative of employers in Salary Board negotiations. He also specializes in corporate restructuring and decentralization processes, as well as in designing labor policies and remuneration systems.
Alberto Baroffio graduated as attorney from Universidad de la República (Uruguay) in 2008 and garnered first place in the academic ranking for his class, with the highest grade-point average.
He coauthored the books Manual Práctico de la Construcción [Practical Manual for the Construction Industry], which was declared to be in the national interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Leyes de Tercerización [Outsourcing Laws]. He has also published diverse articles on labor law and social security in specialized reviews.
He frequently participates in business conferences, courses and seminars, often as speaker.
He was an instructor in Labor Regulations and Taxes at Universidad ORT (Uruguay) and in Labor and Social Security Law at Universidad de la República (Uruguay).
