He has developed his professional career in advising and defending local and foreign clients on intellectual property matters. His has assisted clients ranging from entrepreneurs and small domestic businesses to multinational corporations, on the protection and strategic management of their intangible assets.

He has broad experience representing clients in administrative procedures with SENAPI, including challenges, nullity actions, non-use cancellations, infringement actions, and in administering trademark portfolios of leading companies.

Before practicing in the private sector, he worked at the National Intellectual Property Service (SENAPI), where he was involved in processing proceedings on hierarchical appeal. This experience affords him in-depth knowledge of the authority’s criteria and internal functioning, which he applies in designing strategies for registration, enforcement and litigation tailored to each client.

He also advises authors, artists and companies on protecting their works, assigning economic rights, preparation of license agreements, trademark coexistence and distribution.

He was formerly part of the IP department at an important Bolivian law firm, where he participated in managing local and international trademark portfolios and in highly complex litigation.

He has completed specialized training at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy in trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications, copyrights and related rights, intellectual property and traditional knowledge, and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), as well as International IP Crime Investigators College (INTERPOL) programs on investigation of transnational IP crimes and counterfeit products.
