Eduardo Ammatuna

Eduardo Ammatuna is a partner at FERRERE Paraguay, where he leads the Labor department, as well as the office’s waterway practice.

He has significant experience in handling complex labor and corporate issues for his clients, who include major multinational and local companies such as Pedidos Ya, Raízen, Atento, Alorica, 3M, Uber, Procter & Gamble, Logicalis, Cervepar, Claro, Roche, Hidrovías do Brasil, Nestlé, Puma Energy and Assist Card.

He also heads up the waterway practice at the Paraguay office, advising multinationals of the stature of Cargill, Seacor (Interbarge), Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and Trafigura (Impala) on their operations using the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway. This includes assistance on highly complex matters as well as regulatory procedures related to company authorizations as shipowners, obtaining and renewing all permits and licenses to operate Paraguay flag river vessels, shipowner corporate restructurings, flag registry cessations, etc.

In corporate law he advises DSM Nutritional Products, Vida, Santa Juana Jersey and Seacor (Interbarge) on day-to day corporate matters.

S&P grants investment grade to Paraguay

The rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Global Ratings has upgraded Paraguay’s credit rating to BBB-, officially granting it Investment Grade status. This recognition adds to the rating awarded by Moody’s in 2024, confirming a consistent trajectory of macroeconomic and institutional strengthening. With the backing of two of the three leading global rating agencies, Paraguay is no longer just a “promise” and is consolidating itself as an increasingly relevant market for international capital.
