Federico Rodríguez

Federico Rodríguez Puig is a member of FERRERE’s Company Law, Corporate, Energy and Infrastructure teams.

His activity includes advising on company mergers and acquisitions, corporate matters, involvement in shareholder litigation and disputes, as well as in energy and infrastructure projects. 

For over a decade, Federico has assisted local and multinational companies with interests in Uruguay.

His practice involves comprehensive advice to local and international companies on company and corporate law issues, with participation in complex capital transactions, equity structurings, company conflicts and implementation of large-scale projects in Uruguay. He also has outstanding experience with clients in port, logistics and technology sectors.  

In recent years, Federico has had outstanding activity in the energy sector, where he has participated in diverse renewable energy and Oil & Gas projects. His experience includes some of the most important energy asset purchases in Uruguay, among them the transfer of the country’s most significant wind and solar parks, as well as ongoing work with companies in the natural gas and fuel sector. He also regularly advises on infrastructure and energy projects related to the Uruguayan government. 

Federico earned his degree as attorney from Universidad de la República (Uruguay). Until 2017, he was a member and speaker at the Interdisciplinary Consumer Relations Center of that university.

He is currently professor of Business Companies and Social Finance at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and is Deputy Secretary General of the Southwestern Institute for Comparative and International Law (Texas, United States), of which he is also an alumnus.
