Her practice area focuses on management and protection of intellectual property assets and digital compliance, including definition of strategies for registration, vigilance and defense of trademarks in Latin America, as well as designing comprehensive portfolio protection schemes at regional and international levels. She also participates in projects for regulatory compliance in privacy, international data transfer and technological governance.
She has spent part of her professional career in Spain, advising and managing the intellectual property portfolios of European and US clients with assets in Latin America. This experience has allowed her to consolidate a sold regional vision, with legal strategies adapted to the regulatory particularities and practices of each jurisdiction.
Gimena earned her degree as attorney from Universidad de Montevideo (Uruguay). She completed a master’s degree in International Law (LLM) at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, and holds a diploma in Intellectual Property from Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile, and specialized training in Digital Law, Contracting and Artificial Intelligence applied to Law from IE Law School. She is currently completing a master’s degree in Digital Law at Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
