José specializes in tax, customs and corporate advice, as well as in consultancy to multinational companies, from setting up business to day-to-day operations in Uruguay. He also advises on aircraft, airlines, port logistics and highly complex contracts. He is a member of the Uruguayan Tax Studies Institute (IUET).
In 2023, José provided pro-bono advice to REDME (Women Executives Network of Uruguay), a nonprofit organization that promotes female leadership at diverse organizations.
From November 2023 until January 2025 he worked at UPM’s local office in Uruguay on secondment. During that period he specialized in preparing local and international business strategies, providing day-to-day advice on operations and future projections.
José graduated from Universidad de la República (Uruguay) in December 2020, and holds a Master’s in Tax from Universidad de Montevideo (Uruguay), with a thesis titled “The Second Energy Transition: is it necessary to adapt the regulatory and tax framework applicable to green hydrogen projects?”
