María Julia Méndez

María Julia is a member of the Tax and Corporate department at FERRERE Paraguay. She specializes in advising local and foreign clients on the tax impacts of their economic activities in Paraguay and abroad.

María Julia is a member of the Tax and Corporate department at FERRERE Paraguay. She specializes in advising local and foreign clients on the tax impacts of their economic activities in Paraguay and abroad, including tax planning to optimize tax costs. Her practice area also includes advice to clients on processes for recovery of tax credits and undue or excess payments, at both administrative and judicial levels.

Before joining FERRERE she was a senior at the law firm Nora Ruoti & Asociados, whose tax practice is well-known in Paraguay, where she provided ongoing advice to companies in diverse sectors of the economy. Among her most important jobs was advice on structuring, development and startup of the tax administration department at the Paraguayan Social Security Institute.

María Julia is on the faculty of Instituto de Formación Tributaria, Comercial y Administrativa, which offers training courses and well as specializations and master’s programs in the tax and corporate areas, aimed at public accountants and attorneys. She also collaborated on tax publications for the publishing ventuire Editorial Emprendimientos Nora Ruoti SRL, and garnered recognition for her contributions.

The licence of the entities associated with customs activities is extended until february 2025

In Paraguay, every year importers, exporters, and other persons related to the customs activity (PVAA as per its Spanish acronym) must update their information and renew their licenses by April 30.
