His practice focuses on contract, commercial, banking, finance, and administrative law. With his strong academic background and public sector experience, he offers a full range of strategic legal advice on complex matters.
He has participated in high-impact transactions in the Paraguayan market. He was part of the team advising Ueno Bank on its merger by absorption with Visión Banco—an unprecedented deal in the local financial sector. At the same time, he was also involved in advising Rabo Partnerships B.V., as shareholder of Banco Regional, on its merger with Sudameris Bank, the first merger of publicly listed banking entities in Paraguay. Maurizio also contributed in advising Banco Itaú Paraguay S.A. on the organization of the Itaú IAM Plus real estate investment fund and supported Itaú Seguros in the review and approval of multiple insurance products, ensuring full regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Before joining FERRERE, Maurizio served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Justice and as member of the Legal Unit within the Central Bank of Paraguay, gaining deep insight into the functioning of the public sector and the country’s financial regulatory framework.
In academia, he is the author of numerous legal publications, including the book “Fideicomiso de Titulización: Desafíos del empleo de flujos de caja de créditos futuros en el Paraguay,” published by La Ley Paraguaya S.A. He has also published articles in major specialized publications in Paraguay and serves on the editorial board for Civil Law of La Revista Jurídica Paraguaya, a publication of La Ley, the most prestigious legal publisher in Paraguay.
He teaches at Universidad Católica de Asunción and is a faculty member for the Master’s Program in Civil and Commercial Law at the Law School of Universidad Nacional de Asunción (Graduate Programs Division), where he lectures on Property Law.

He graduated with honors from Universidad Nacional de Asunción and pursued postgraduate studies in Roman Law at Università di Roma “La Sapienza.” He also earned two master's degrees from Universidad de Salamanca—one in Public Administration Law and another in Financial Markets Law.
