She advises local and foreign clients on a broad range of intellectual property and regulatory matters. Additionally, her practice includes issues such as advertising, regulatory compliance on personal data protection and e-commerce, and protection of intangible assets focusing on new technologies.
Her practice includes assisting clients with the management of trademark portfolios, trademark and patent prosecutions, and complex IP matters. She also has extensive experience working with local regulatory agencies on matters of marketing authorizations, and the regulatory aspects of distribution agreements, imports, and exports. Montserrat has advised companies on projects related to operation of health care facilities, as well as on initiatives related to telemedicine.
Montserrat is a member of the International Trademark Association and the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association, where she participates actively on working committees.
Montserrat specialized in intellectual property and new technologies. She holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía - ISDE (Madrid, Spain); a Diploma in Intellectual Property from Universidad Austral (Buenos Aires, Argentina); a Diploma in Intellectual Property and New Technologies from the Heidelberg Center for Latin America – CCI Paraguay (Asunción, Paraguay); and has completed a Program in IP and Digital Context from Universidad Austral (Buenos Aires, Argentina); a Program in Biotechnology and Breeder Rights from Universidad Austral (Buenos Aires, Argentina); and an International Program in Data Protection from Universidad Austral (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Montserrat also holds a Diploma in Law and Technology, certified by ESEADE and La Ley Paraguaya.
She is currently enrolled in a Diploma program in Health Regulatory Affairs issued by the School of Chemical Sciences of Universidad Nacional de Asunción.
