Montserrat advises local and foreign clients on a broad range of intellectual property and regulatory matters. Additionally, her practice includes issues such as advertising, regulatory compliance on personal data protection and e-commerce, and protection of intangible assets focusing on new technologies.
Her practice includes advising clients on the management of trademark portfolios, trademark and patent prosecutions, and complex IP matters. She also has extensive experience working with local regulatory agencies on matters of marketing authorizations, and regulatory aspects of distribution agreements, imports, and exports. Montserrat has advised companies on projects related to operation of health care facilities, as well as on initiatives related to telemedicine.
Montserrat specializes in intellectual property and new technologies. She holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE, Madrid, Spain) and has completed multiple specialized diplomas and programs in intellectual property, new technologies, data protection, biotechnology, and law and technology from institutions such as Universidad Austral, the Heidelberg Center for Latin America, ESEADE, and La Ley Paraguaya. Montserrat also holds a Diploma in Health Regulatory Affairs from the School of Chemical Sciences of Universidad Nacional de Asunción.
Montserrat is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Inter-American Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI), where she participates actively on working committees.
