Néstor Loizaga is a partner at Ferrere at its Paraguay offices.
He specializes in foreign direct investment, complex commercial agreements, joint ventures, distribution contracts, complex mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance law, corporate and commercial law. He advises diverse multinational companies and multilateral credit organizations.
He has represented Petrobras in the acquisition of Shell’s assets in Paraguay, Vale S.A. in the acquisition of Rio Tinto’s operations in Paraguay, Transatlantic Reinsurance Company in the acquisition of a stake in the insurer El Sol del Paraguay, Abbott in the acquisition of CFR Pharmaceuticals, and Mosaic in the purchase of ADM’s fertilizer business, among others. On an ongoing basis he advises companies like Cargill, Unilever, Ericsson, Vale, Vidriocar, Diageo, Seacor, Akzo Nobel, Abbott, and General Electric, among others, on their day-to-day business and special projects. In the banking and finance sphere he regularly assists Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Lloyds, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Barclays Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Andean Development Corporation, Inter-American Investment Corporation, Oikocredit Ecumenical Cooperative, International Finance Corporation, and Société Générale, among others.
