His practice focuses on corporate and commercial transactions, primarily on matters related to mergers and acquisitions in the agribusiness, real estate, construction, and telecommunications sectors.
He also advises and represents corporate clients in domestic and international arbitrations under various rules, including ICC, UNCITRAL and CAMP. His experience spans both commercial arbitration and proceedings for the recognition, enforcement and annulment of arbitral awards in the intellectual property, construction, retail and energy sectors. He also acts as arbitrator.
In addition to his practice as attorney, Raúl serves as the Latin America representative for the ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (ICC YAAF), Paraguay’s representative to the Arbitration Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce, and Executive Editor of ITA in Review, and he is listed as an arbitrator with the Paraguayan Center for Arbitration and Mediation (CAMP) and the Latin American Arbitration Center (LatCam).
He has authored several publications and has spoken at conferences on topics related to international commercial and investment arbitration.
Before joining FERRERE, he was part of the international arbitration group at Shearman & Sterling LLP in Paris, where he focused primarily on foreign investments, renewable energy, and oil & gas, under various rules and institutions (UNCITRAL, ICSID, CRCICA, DIS).
Raúl holds a law degree from the Catholic University of Asunción and an LL.M. from the American University Washington College of Law.
