His practice focuses on advice to local and foreign companies on strategic and corporate matters.

Santiago was formerly a member of the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration team, where he participated in complex civil and commercial disputes of local and international clients, including insurers, oil companies, financial institutions, air carriers, construction companies and mining projects, among others.

His arbitration practice has included relevant local and international commercial disputes, as well as high-profile investment arbitrations in Uruguay and abroad. He is the author of diverse publications and has participated in talks on the subject.

Santiago has advised clients in different sectors on contract issues and potential disputes, especially in the financial sector and in the construction industry.

As a member of the Arbitration Team of Universidad de la República he has participated in world-recognized competitions. He also regularly engages in academic and teaching activities related to his practice area at the same university.
