Sofía Rattazzi

Sofía Rattazzi is a member of FERRERE's Environmental and Corporate team in Paraguay.

Her practice focuses on environmental due diligence procedures in the context of mergers and acquisitions of local companies, response to regulatory queries and legal advice.

In her beginnings, she was part of a law firm in the role of assistant in charge of file management and prosecution of lawsuits before various institutions and jurisdictional tribunals.

Before joining FERRERE, Sofía worked at the Treasury Legal Service (2021 - 2023) as a prosecutor, where she was in charge of approximately 800 executive and contentious-administrative lawsuits.

She also worked at the Institute of Environmental Law and Economics "IDEA" (2022 - 2023) where she acquired very valuable experience in the elaboration of legislative projects, public policies and environmental law.

She was awarded her law degree from the National University of Asuncion in 2022. She is currently pursuing a degree in Notary Public and a postgraduate degree in University Didactics at the same university.

The Government of Paraguay regulates the Carbon Credit Law

The Executive Branch of the Republic of Paraguay issued, on Tuesday, February 18th, the Decree N° 3369/2025, which regulates Law N° 7190/2023 on Carbon Credits, with the objective of establishing the foundations for the implementation of the law, aligning national regulations with international commitments on climate change, defining the competencies of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES) as the enforcing authority, and setting the basic rules for the operation of the Carbon Credit Registry.
