Sofía has led real estate due diligence procedures, including reviews of title, encumbrances, legal restrictions and specific regulatory compliance, advising developers, purchasers and investors on urban, rural and industrial assets, and on real estate and agroindustrial projects. She has also participated in structuring and negotiating purchase agreements, leases and forest land real rights.
In the environmental law area, she has experience defending clients in environmental administrative procedures with national and municipal authorities. She also conducts environmental due diligence procedures, compliance reviews and regulatory analyses, especially for transactions involving mergers and acquisitions of local companies. In turn, she advises on the carbon market, including contract structuring and filing with environmental authorities, and on matters related to waste management, circular economy and environmental compliance. Her technical expertise allows her to combine environmental and real estate aspects to offer strategic legal solutions.
Before joining FERRERE, she worked as Prosecutor at the Treasury Legal Service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, where she managed a portfolio of approximately 800 executive and administrative litigation proceedings. She also collaborated with the Institute of Environmental Law and Economics (IDEA), where she participated in drafting bills of law, designing public policies, and providing advice on environmental law.
She earned her law degree and her notary public degree, both cum laude, from Universidad Nacional de Asunción. She has authored various articles on legal issues, published in some of Paraguay’s most prestigious reviews and journals. She also participates actively in pro bono initiatives related to environmental and sustainability matters.
