FERRERE advises Nuseed on its entry in the Uruguayan market

FERRERE advised Nuseed, the seed technology platform of Nufarm (global crop protection and seed technology company), on a transaction involving the purchase of assets of the Uruguayan company LEBU (local leader in seed production and distribution), marking the Nuseed group’s entry to the Uruguayan market. 

Since 2013, under a strategic alliance on which FERRERE also advised, LEBU had acted as exclusive distributor of Nuseed seeds in Uruguay.  With the recent transaction, Nuseed will handle commercialization and distribution of its seeds in the market. 

FERRERE’s work was led by partner Geraldine Ifrán and counsel Cristina Vignone, together with a team of practitioners including partner Isabel Laventure, counsel Isabel Hounie, and senior associates Walter Planells, Giselle Cardoso and María Eugenia Contreras. The FERRERE team worked on the transaction together with the Nuseed inhouse counsels,  Bill Robison and Federico Matt.
