International Financial Law Review (IFLR), the renowned law publication that recognizes legal innovation in the most relevant cross-border financial and corporate transactions, nominated FERRERE for the IFLR Americas Awards 2026.
First, the firm has been shortlisted for “Firm of the Year” in Uruguay, an award it already obtained in 2025, 2022, 2021 and 2020.
Secondly, FERRERE was nominated in the "Deal of the Year: M&A" category, for its role as legal advisor to Millicom (TIGO) on its acquisition of the Uruguayan unit of the Spanish group Telefónica. The FERRERE team provided comprehensive advice on all legal, tax and regulatory aspects of the transaction, from the due diligence and transaction documents to conducting the approval process with URSEC, the local telecommunications regulator.
The ceremony, to be held in New York on October 14, recognizes law firms, teams and practitioners for their performance over the year and for their innovative approach to the most significant multi-jurisdiction transactions in the Latin American and US markets, based on extensive preliminary research.
