The renowned British publication, Latin Lawyer, announced the finalist transactions for its annual Deal of the Year Awards, recognizing the most relevant deals for 2022.
In the “Mergers and Acquisitions: private companies” category, FERRERE Uruguay has been shortlisted for its work advising the British risk capital group Actis on the sale of Atlas, a platform for operation and maintenance of renewable energies assets and projects throughout the region, with 14 projects in Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. At Latin American level, it is the second largest independent promotor of renewables, with a total installed capacity of 2.3 gigawatts.
In Uruguay, in particular, Actis had two solar projects with aggregate capacity of 70MW, in operation since 2018.
FERRERE handled preparation of the supplier due diligence for the competitive process, which took place from mid-2021 to the first quarter of 2022. FERRERE also advised on local law matters during the negotiations, the share purchase agreements, and closing of the deal.
The FERRERE team was led by the partner Gonzalo Secco, and included a broad team of practitioners: Isabel Hounie, Enrique Slekis, María Victoria Costa, Agustina Pérez, Federico Rodríguez and Ana Laura Oliveros.
The winners will be announced at a benefit dinner to be held on May 11 in Sao Paulo.
